Many people hear the word “renovations” and immediately find themselves worrying about time, finances and what kind of style they are looking for. While there is a lot that goes into renovations, it is a very exciting way to update your home, and, ultimately modernize it! A less overwhelming way to renovate your home is to work on one room at a time and figure out when is the best time to update each one. A very common room that needs renovating is your bathroom. But, when is the right time? Here are a few things that you can ask yourself about your bathroom to figure out if it is time to update.
Are the colors outdated?
Older style bathrooms tend to have funkier colors than today’s bathrooms. If the colors in your bathroom are bright, not your style anymore, or just do not match with the overall vibe of the rest of your home, it may be time to update. When repainting, try to stick to a timeless, neutral color such as black, grey, tan or white. This way, no matter what décor you decide to put in your bathroom, it will match! Neutral colors will always be relevant no matter how much the style changes.
Do you find yourself needing more storage?
No one likes to see a lot of clutter in a bathroom. If you find yourself needing more storage, it may be time to update and add more shelving and cabinets. With more cabinets, you can store any makeup, skin care products, toiletries or medicines inside, and they will not be cluttered on your counter space. The less items you have showing, the more organized you will be, and not to mention, your bathroom will look better!
Is the lighting too dim?
Do you find yourself squinting in the mirror, unable to see yourself due to dim lighting? If so, brighter bulbs are necessary! You want to be able to see yourself in the mirror as you are getting ready in the morning, so take the time to find brighter bulbs or new styles of lighting to install in your bathroom.
